Joe Biden: Hair We Can Believe In August 28, 2008
Joe Biden: Hair We Can Believe
In
by Ann Coulter
Wednesday, August 27, 2008
Vice presidential candidate Joe Biden’s speech at the Democratic National
Convention was great. As I write, he hasn’t given it yet, but these are my
favorite parts:
“General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for
the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization: Come here to
this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”
“Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this
continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition
that all men are created equal.”
“These Republican leaders have not been content with attacks on me, or my
wife, or on my sons. No, not content with that, they now include my little dog,
Fala. Well, of course, I don’t resent attacks, and my family doesn’t resent
attacks, but Fala does resent them. You know, Fala is Scotch, and … his Scotch
soul was furious. He has not been the same dog since.”
Everyone acts as though Biden’s outrageous plagiarism of British Labor Leader
Neil Kinnock’s speech during the 1988 presidential campaign was just a mistake,
a slip of the tongue. Biden, his defenders say, had credited Kinnock in other
speeches, but simply forgot to add the attribution one time.
First, Biden had failed to mention Kinnock more than once. Second, it was not
just a matter of adding an attribution. On the occasions when Biden failed to
credit Kinnock, he also had to alter Kinnock’s speech to act as if he were
describing the Biden family.
Kinnock said: “Why am I the first Kinnock in a thousand generations to be
able to get to university? Why is (my wife) Glenys the first woman in her family
in a thousand generations to be able to get to university? Was it because all
our predecessors were thick?”
Biden said: “I started thinking as I was coming over here, why is it that Joe
Biden is the first in his family ever to go to a university? Why is it that my
wife who is sitting out there in the audience is the first in her family to ever
go to college? Is it because our fathers and mothers were not bright?”
Kinnock’s speech continued: “Those people who could sing and play and recite
and write poetry? Those people who could make wonderful, beautiful things with
their hands? Those people who could dream dreams, see visions? Why didn’t they
get it? Was it because they were weak? Those people who could work eight hours
underground and then come up and play football? Weak?”
Biden’s speech continued: “Those same people who read poetry and wrote poetry
and taught me how to sing verse? Is it because they didn’t work hard? My
ancestors, who worked in the coal mines of Northeast Pennsylvania and would come
up after 12 hours and play football for four hours?” Biden’s Welsh accent was as
phony as Madonna’s British accent.
If this were merely a failure to cite Kinnock, why was Labor Leader Neil
Kinnock talking about the Biden family and the coal mines of Pennsylvania?
Biden not only lifted — as The New York Times reported — Kinnock’s
“phrases, gestures and lyrical Welsh syntax intact,” but also his entire life
story.
Dismissing his theft of Kinnock’s speech, Biden said at the time: “So what if
I didn’t attribute it to Kinnock? I can’t quite understand this. If I was making
up who I was, then that’s one thing.”
But Biden was making up who he was. And he was making up what kind of country
this is.
The whole point of Kinnock’s speech was to denounce the English class
structure, where his grandfather couldn’t get ahead, despite his talents. Thus,
Kinnock concluded by saying his parents and grandparents couldn’t advance
“because there was no platform upon which they could stand.”
That has never been true in this country. We have no class structure. People
do get ahead by being smart and working hard.
The other side of the coin is that those born well are perfectly capable of
falling from their perch of privilege, as expressed in the peculiarly American
expression: “Shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations.” Which is
precisely what happened to the Biden family.
According to Vice Plagiarist Biden’s own autobiography, his father was to the
manor born. Biden’s grandfather was an executive with the American Oil Co., and
his father had all the advantages in life. “My dad,” Biden writes in “Promises
to Keep,” “grew up well polished by gentlemanly pursuits. He would ride to the
hounds, drive fast, fly airplanes. He knew good clothes, fine horses, the newest
dance steps.”
But, in the blunt language of the Vanity Fair election blog, “he pissed away
his fortune and Joe and his siblings grew up in a decidedly, and proudly,
working-class Catholic home.”
So why was Biden concluding his Kinnock-”inspired” speech with clenched fist,
claiming that his family “didn’t have a platform upon which to stand.” The
executive offices at the American Oil Co. sound like a pretty good platform.
The problem wasn’t that Biden’s father didn’t have a platform, but that he
fell off the platform. Far from sharing Kinnock’s life story, the Biden family
would have benefited from a strict British class system that holds up talentless
aristocrats while keeping down the talented low-born.
No wonder the platform of the Democratic Party is to destroy capitalism: It
allows people to get ahead on their talents and not their names.

Obama Who? A Muslim Indonesian… August 27, 2008
AP photo of school register reveals “Barry Soetoro” as muslim Indonesian
By Israel Insider staff August 14, 2008

A 2007 Associated Press photograph, suppressed until now, shows the school register of the child who is today known as Barack Hussein Obama but was officially listed then as Barry Soetoro, whose citizenship was listed as “Indonesian” and whose religion was listed as “Islam.” The visual evidence starkly contradicts the Obama campaign’s claim that he was not a Muslim and confirms that he is a national of at least one other country.
In addition, it raises the highly problematic issue of what is Obama’s official name. If it turns out to Barry Soetoro, and no official change of name was ever made, Obama may face an array of charges of deception and misprision that may throw into doubt, at the very least, his fitness to run.
Deep doubts remain about the veracity of the “certificate of live birth” image produced for his campaign by the radical left-wing Daily Kos blog. There are reports that investigative teams — from the Republican and Democratic parties as well as various intelligence agencies — are seeking out the details of his murky childhood from Kenya to Indonesia. There are indications of growing disquiet in the circles of power that the so-called “smears” may have understated the gravity of the candidate’s identity problem: he may not be American, he was not raised Christian and, it appears, he was not Barack Hussein Obama.
The evidence of the candidate’s un-American, un-Christian upbringing is nothing new, and has been documented by bloggers as early as 2007 and by Israel Insider in our very first report on this subject in June of this year. But until now the photograph of his school record has been lacking. The image is dated from 2007 and was apparently taken to accompany an AP article that appeared in January of that year. Ironically, that article was about how Obama was rejecting the untrue charge that the public school he attended was a radical Indonesian madrassa.
Some excerpts:
“We will not be swift-boated,” said Obama communications director Robert Gibbs. “And we won’t take allegations that are patently untrue lying down.”
“Obama’s mother, divorced from Obama’s father, married a man from Indonesia named Lolo Soetoro, and the family relocated to the country from 1967-71. At first, Obama attended the Catholic school, Fransiskus Assisis, where documents showed he enrolled as a Muslim, the religion of his stepfather. The document required that each student choose one of five state-sanctioned religions when registering — Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Catholic or Protestant. Gibbs said he wasn’t sure why the document had Obama listed as a Muslim.”
Gibbs may not have been sure, but it appears that the Obama campaign made sure that this image did not see the light of day, because the photographic listing of the candidate, even as a child, as an Indonesian whose religion was Islam was worth, well, a thousand words. “Senator Obama has never been a Muslim,” Gibbs said in the article. “As a six-year-old in Catholic school, he studied the catechism.”
That may be Gibbs’ assertion, but evidence from grown-up school chums of little Barry Soetoro indicates that he studied, and excelled in, the teachings of the Koran in the original Arabic and could recite the Shehada, the Islamic article of faith, by heart, and with a decent tune, according to the New York Times roving columnist Nicholas Kristof, to whom “Obama” remarked that the sound of the Muslim call to prayer was one of the world’s most beautiful sounds.
The AP article quoted Iis Darmawan, 63, Obama’s kindergarten teacher, who “remembers him as an exceptionally tall and curly haired child who quickly picked up the local language and had sharp math skills. ‘He wrote an essay titled, “I Want To Become President,”‘ the teacher said.” She didn’t indicate which country he wanted to become president of.
The AP caption reads: “This registration document, made available on Jan. 24, 2007, by the Fransiskus Assisi school in Jakarta, Indonesia, shows the registration of Barack Obama under the name Barry Soetoro into the Catholic school made by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro. The document lists Barry Soetoro as a Indonesian citizen, born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, and shows his Muslim step-father listed the boy’s religion as Islam. (AP Photo/ Tatan Syuflana)” Syuflana is a well-known and frequently published photographer, specializing in Indonesia.
A representative of the AP confirmed that the photo is authentic.
The most damaging revelation in the AP photo (registration required to see the large-scale image. A derived image is here.) may turn out to be the listing of his name as Barry Soetoro. It has been reported that he used the name Barack Hussein Obama and failed to mention Barry Soetoro when asked to provide any former names. (He reportedly also did not respond honestly when answering negatively to a question concerning illegal drug use, which he has since admitted.) It is believed that failure to report his previous name is not an isolated instance, and may have contributed to the perceived need to manufacture a forged birth certificate listing Obama’s preferred identity as if it were present from the start.
The listing of Barry Soetoro as a Muslim contradicts what appears on his campaign’s Fight the Smears website, where he says that “I have never been a Muslim.” In a private meeting with Jewish leaders in February, Obama emphatically re-stated the claim, but with a bit of a twist, declaring: “I am not, nor have I ever been, a Muslim (especially an anti-American one).”
Does the candidate protest too much here? Indeed, he is echoing language used in the 1950s by those who denied Communist ties. No one is claiming, here, that Obama is anti-American. But the image of his school registration doesn’t lie, and indicates clearly that he was registered as a Muslim, and thus, despite the claim of his spokesman, he didn’t study the catechism. Barry Soetoro studied the Koran.

Subject: BREAKING NEWS – Legal Challenge To Obama’s Candidacy
A prominent Philadelphia attorney and Hillary Clinton supporter filed
suit this afternoon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of
Pennsylvania against Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic National
Committee and the Federal Election Commission. The action seeks an injunction
preventing the senator from continuing his candidacy and a court order enjoining
the DNC from nominating him next week, all on grounds that Sen. Obama is
constitutionally ineligible to run for and hold the office of President of the
United States.
Phillip Berg, the filing attorney, is a former gubernatorial and
senatorial candidate, former chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery (PA)
County, former member of the Democratic State Committee, and former Deputy
Attorney General of Pennsylvania. According to Berg, he filed the suit–just
days before the DNC is to hold its nominating convention in Denver–for the
health of the Democratic Party.
“I filed this action at this time,” Berg stated, “to avoid the obvious
problems that will occur when the Republican Party raises these issues after
Obama is nominated.”.
Berg cited a number of unanswered questions regarding the Illinois
senator’s background, and in today’s lawsuit maintained that Sen. Obama is not a
natural born U.S. citizen or that, if he ever was, he lost his citizenship when
he was adopted in Indonesia. Berg also cites what he calls “dual loyalties” due
to his citizenship and ties with Kenya and Indonesia.
Even if Sen. Obama can prove his U.S. citizenship, Berg stated, citing
the senator’s use of a birth certificate from the state of Hawaii verified as a
forgery by three independent document forensic experts, the issue of
“multi-citizenship with responsibilities owed to and allegiance to other
countries” remains on the table.
In the lawsuit, Berg states that Sen. Obama was born in Kenya, and not
in Hawaii as the senator maintains. Before giving birth, according to the
lawsuit, Obama’s mother traveled to Kenya with his father but was prevented from
flying back to Hawaii because of the late stage of her pregnancy, “apparently a
normal restriction to avoid births during a flight.” As Sen. Obama’s own
paternal grandmother, half-brother and half-sister have also claimed, Berg
maintains that Stanley Ann Dunham–Obama’s mother–gave birth to little Barack
in Kenya and subsequently flew to Hawaii to register the birth.
Berg cites inconsistent accounts of Sen. Obama’s birth, including
reports that he was born at two separate hospitals–Kapiolani Hospital and
Queens Hospital–in Honolulu, as well a profound lack of birthing records for
Stanley Ann Dunham, though simple “registry of birth” records for Barack Obama
are available in a Hawaiian public records office.
Should Sen. Obama truly have been born in Kenya, Berg writes, the laws
on the books at the time of his birth hold that U.S. citizenship may only pass
to a child born overseas to a U.S. citizen parent and non-citizen parent if the
former was at least 19 years of age. Sen. Obama’s mother was only 18 at the
time. Therefore, because U.S. citizenship could not legally be passed on to him,
Obama could not be registered as a “natural born” citizen and would therefore be
ineligible to seek the presidency pursuant to Article II, Section 1 of the
United States Constitution.
Moreover, even if Sen. Obama could have somehow been deemed “natural
born,” that citizenship was lost in or around 1967 when he and his mother took
up residency in Indonesia, where Stanley Ann Dunham married Lolo Soetoro, an
Indonesian citizen. Berg also states that he possesses copies of Sen. Obama’s
registration to Fransiskus Assisi School In Jakarta, Indonesia which clearly
show that he was registered under the name “Barry Soetoro” and his citizenship
listed as Indonesian.
The Hawaiian birth certificate, Berg says, is a forgery. In the suit,
the attorney states that the birth certificate on record is a forgery, has been
identified as such by three independent document forensic experts, and actually
belonged to Maya Kasandra Soetoro, Sen. Obama’s half-sister.
“Voters donated money, goods and services to elect a nominee and were
defrauded by Sen. Obama’s lies and obfuscations,” Berg stated. “If the DNC
officers … had performed one ounce of due diligence we would not find
ourselves in this emergency predicament, one week away from making a person the
nominee who has lost their citizenship as a child and failed to even perform the
basic steps of regaining citizenship as prescribed by constitutional laws.”
“It is unfair to the country,” he continued, “for candidates of either
party to become the nominee when there is any question of the ability to serve
if elected.”
